How it works
When it's an arb
Add up each side's implied probability at the best price on offer. Over 100% (the normal case) and every outcome loses a little. Under 100% and the right stakes lock in a profit: +105 and +102 add up to 98.3%, a return of about 1.7% on the total staked.
The stakes
Each side's stake = total stake × its implied probability ÷ the market total, so every outcome pays the same. Rounding to whole dollars makes the payouts differ slightly; the profit shown is the worst case.
Every outcome
List every way the bet can settle. A spread or total with a whole-number line can push, and soccer moneylines have a draw; leave one out and the "arb" can lose.
The catches
Prices move, sometimes before your second bet is placed. Books can limit stakes, void bets on obvious errors, and restrict accounts that arb often. Check each book's rules first.
