How it works

Negative odds: the favorite

-150 means you risk $150 to win $100. The profit on any stake is stake × 100 ÷ 150, so $30 at -150 wins $20 and pays back $50 in all.

Positive odds: the underdog

+130 means a $100 bet wins $130. The profit is stake × 130 ÷ 100, so $30 at +130 wins $39 and pays back $69.

-110

The standard price on spreads and totals. You risk $110 to win $100, or $11 to win $10. The extra $10 per $100 is the book's margin, the vig: at -110 on both sides you need to win 52.4% of bets to break even.

Implied probability

How often a bet has to win to break even at those odds: 100 ÷ (odds + 100) for plus odds, odds ÷ (odds + 100) for minus odds, ignoring the sign. +150 is 40%, -150 is 60%.
